SCSI IDs in ascending order from top to bottom, when the
expansion unit is installed in a tower. Second, the general
system error indicator on the front panel will be swapped
with the power-on LED, placing the green power-on LED
above the general-system error indicator.

Tray number settings:

switch on the ESM board to set a tray identification
number for the expansion unit. You can set a number
from 0–9. System-management software, such as IBM
Netfinity Manager, uses this identification number when it
provides data and alerts for the expansion unit.

Installing the expansion unit in a rack

The EXP200 expansion unit requires 3U of EIA rack
mounting space. Before installing the expansion unit in
your rack you must:
Plan device installation starting from the bottom of the
rack
Refer to the rack documentation for safety and
cabling considerations. Ensure that your planned
installation is within the rack enclosure guidelines for
heat generation, electrical requirements, air flow, and
mechanical loading.
Note: Because of the limited space in some racks, it
might be easier to connect and route cables
before you install the mounting brackets and
hardware devices.
Position the unit in the rack to allow for proper air
circulation around and through the expansion unit
Turn off power to your rack
Refer to the rack documentation for instructions on
removing its doors and side panels
Use the rack mounting template that comes with the
expansion unit to locate the rack mounting holes and
install the unit into a rack cabinet. If you misplace the
template, you can use the following steps to install your
expansion unit:
