Device Setup
Connect the AC power cord or adapter to the back of the switch and a power source. The green Power LED
will blink.
If the Power LED is not on, check that the power cord or power adapter is connected on both ends.
Before using the web-based setup, you must know the IP address of the switch. The switch is an acting
DHCP client by default. If there is no DHCP server on your network, the default IP address of the switch is
192.168.1.251/255.255.255.0.
To access the switch's browser-based setup:
1) Use Cat5e cables to connect to the switch and your computer to the network
2) Set up your computer with an IP address if there is no DHCP server on your network.
Choose a unique (not already in use) IP address in the range of
192.168.1.1-192.168.1.254) and assigned to your computer.
3) Open a web browser on your computer. Enter the IP address of your switch.
4) Type in the default username: admin, and password: admin.
5) Click login to continue.
Product Overview
Power LED (Green). A solid green LED indicates the switch is powered on and
operating normally. Blinking green means the switch is booting up or in self-test
mode. Off indicates the switch is not powered on.
Fault LED (Amber). A solid amber LED indicates there is a hardware failure.
PoE Max LED (Amber). For PoE SKUs, a solid amber LED means the switch
has achieved the maximum PoE budget.
Mode Button. Toggles the Port LEDs to display status either LAN Mode or PoE
Mode.
LAN Mode LED (Green). Indicates Port LEDs have been set to LAN mode. When
set to LAN mode the Port LEDs will display Ethernet speed.
PoE Mode LED (Green). Indicates Port LEDs have been set to PoE mode. When
set to PoE mode the Port LEDs will display active PoE connections.
LAN Mode Port LED (Green). A solid green LED indicates ports are connected at
1000 Mbps. Off indicates ports may be connected at 10/100 Mbps or are not
connected.
PoE Mode Port LED (Green). A solid green LED indicates ports are actively
connected to PoE devices and providing power. Blinking green means an error
has occurred. Off indicates there is no power transmitting.
Link/Act LED (Green). A solid green LED indicates ports are connected. Blinking
green LED indicates transmit or receive activity. Off indicates there is no link.
Press and hold for less than 10 seconds to reboot the switch. Press and hold for
more than 10 seconds to reset the switch to factory settings.
Auto-sensing Ethernet ports detect the speed of the device connected to them
(10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, or 1000 Mbps), and adjust port speed and duplex
accordingly.
A connection point for an SFP/SFP+ (miniGBIC) expansion module that allows
for the switch to be uplinked via fiber to another switch. The SFP/SFP+ port
provides a link to a high-speed network segment or individual workstation at
1G/10G speeds.
