1 POWER indicator
Lights up or goes off as follows to indicate the power
supply status:
Green: Power is being supplied to the HDC-700.
Red: The CAM PW button of the MSU-700 Master
Setup Unit or RCP-700 series Remote Contorol
Panel is set to OFF.
Yellow: Power is being supplied to the HDC-700, but
the VF PW button of the MSU-700 Master Setup
Unit or RCP-700 series Remote Contorol Panel is
set to OFF, and power is not being supplied to the
viewfinder.
Off: Power is not being supplied to the HDC-700.
2 Video signal select buttons
Selects the video output signal (R, G, or B) to the
viewfinder. The video output signal to the monitor
connected to the MONITOR connector will also be
selected.
• The R, G, and B buttons may be pressed individually
or in combination. The signal corresponding to each
pressed button will be output. When two buttons are
pressed, the output of will consist of those two
signals mixed together.
• When all three buttons are pressed, the output to the
viewfinder and monitor will be the Y signal.
• When no button is pressed, the output to the
viewfinder and monitor will be the Y signal.
3 H-POSI (horizontal position) control
Adjusts the horizontal position of the box cursor
displayed on the viewfinder screen within the safety
zone.

4 WIDTH control
Adjusts the width of the box cursor displayed on the
viewfinder screen within the safety zone.

5 V-POSI (vertical position) control
Adjusts the vertical position of the box cursor
displayed on the viewfinder screen within the safety
zone.

6 HEIGHT control
Adjusts the height of the box cursor displayed on the
viewfinder screen within the safety zone.

7 RET 2 (return video 2) button
When a second return video system (return video 2) is
used along with return video 1, pressing this button
will allow viewing of the return video 2 signal on the
viewfinder screen. At the same time, the output of the
MONITOR connector will also be switched to return
video 2.
Pressing this button again will switch the viewfinder
screen display and MONITOR output back to the
camera's video signal.
Note
If both the RET 1 and RET 2 buttons are pressed, RET
1 will be displayed.
8 RET 1 (return video 1) button
Pressing this button will allow viewing of the return
video 1 signal on the viewfinder screen. At the same
time, the output of the MONITOR connector will also
be switched to return video 1. Pressing this button
again will switch the viewfinder screen display and
MONITOR output back to the camera's video signal.
9 Back tally lamp
Lights when a red tally signal is received by the
camera. When the CALL button on the MSU-700
Master Setup Unit or the RCP-700 series Remote
Control Panel is pressed, the lamp lights if previously
off or goes off if previously on. The brightness of the
lamp may be adjusted using a control provided in the
camera.
Attach a supplied number plate (0 through 9) to
display the camera number.
For more information on adjusting the lamp brightness or
attaching a number plate, contact a Sony service or sales
representative.
!º CURSOR STORE button
Press this button to store the size and position of the
box cursor in memory.
Note
If the CURSOR ON button is not lit, box cursor
information will not be stored.
