Configuration notes:
The VX3320 appliance supports up to 3 drive groups. Each drive group contains 1 cache drive and up to
7 capacity drives depending on the quantity of the drive groups:
1 drive group: From 2 to 7 capacity drives.
2 drive groups: From 2 to 4 capacity drives in each group.
3 drive groups: 2 capacity drives in each group.
The quantity of the capacity drives in each drive group must be the same.
All cache drives in the appliance must be of the same model and capacity. All capacity drives in the
appliance must be of the same model and capacity.
The withdrawn VX3320 (7Y13) appliance does not support NVMe PCIe SSD cache drives.
I/O expansion
The VX3320 appliance supports one LOM card slot and up to four PCIe slots: one slot on the system planar that
is dedicated to an internal storage controller and up to three PCIe slots with different riser cards installed into two
riser sockets on the system planar (one riser socket supports installation of one riser card).
The slot form factors are as follows:
LOM card slot
Slot 1: PCIe 3.0 x8, ML2 x8, or ML2 x16; low profile
Slot 2: PCIe 3.0 x16 or x8; low profile or full-height, half-length
Slot 3: PCIe 3.0 x16; low profile
Slot 4: PCIe 3.0 x8 (dedicated to an internal storage controller)
Configuration note: Slot 3 requires the second processor to be installed.
