Possible Causes
Adjust the low flame setting.
NOTE: The right side LOW
flames should be smaller
than the left side, because
the left side can accommodate
the grill burner. Do not
adjust the left side unless you
do not have a grill module.
Be sure the knob is in the
OFF position.
Changing blower speed.
Burner parts not replaced
correctly.
Burner ports may
be clogged.
Flame setting may need
to be adjusted.
Controls improperly set.
Cord improperly connected
or power turned off.
Grill is being used.
Clogged filter.
House too airtight.
Wall cap obstructed.
Wall cap damper door stuck.
Duct length exceeds
recommended 100
equivalent foot maximum.
Food spillovers not cleaned
before next use.
What To Do
1 Light the top burners and
continue turning all of
the surface knobs to LOW.
2 Remove all 4 knobs.
3 With a small flat-blade
screwdriver, turn the valve
set screws clockwise to
decrease flame size,
counterclockwise to increase
flame size. Adjust until the flame
is about the same height as the top of the burner.
4 Replace the knobs.
• Remove knob by pulling it straight off the stem and
check the bottom of the knob for any buildup of soil.
• This is a typical electrical switching noise.
This is normal.

• To turn from the OFF position, push the knob in
and then turn. The knob can only be turned in a
counterclockwise direction. When the knob is at any
other position, it can be turned in either direction
without being pushed in.
• Check connections. Turn on power at the fuse box.
• This is normal. The fan comes on automatically
when the grill is in use.
• Clean filter per instructions.
• Open a window slightly to provide fresh air source.
• Remove blockage from exterior wall cap.
• Check exterior wall cap damper door for free movement
or obstruction.
• Reduce number of elbows to simplify duct run.
• See the Care and cleaning section.
• Cover pan with a lid.
• Turn the downdraft fan OFF until the water begins to boil.
