Overhead mounting
10.3 Location for display unit
Determine which place is the most suitable and convenient for navigation and
general operation after considering the following conditions:
- you can see the ship's bow when you raise or lower your eyes from the dis-
play.
- there is limited exposure to direct sunlight to avoid overheating - see envi-
ronment temperature limits in 10.12 Specifications.
- there is good ventilation and minimum vibration.
- the minimum distance to a magnetic compass is 500mm (20").
- provide sufficient space behind the unit to allow for proper cable connections
to the rear panel connectors.
