2.8.23 PRECAUTIONS FOR THE INSTAL-
LATION OF THE EXHAUST SYS-
TEM TAILPIPE
When the machine is stopped at the end of work, the ex-
q
haust pipe (1) and the tailpipe (2) are very hot. In these con-
ditions, if any maintenance operation has to be carried out,
the operator runs the risk of being burned or injured.
Carry out any maintenance operation only when these parts
have cooled down and in any case always use thick gloves.
Pay the utmost attention when installing the tailpipe (2) on

the exhaust pipe (1), since the former must be positioned
correctly with the outlet of the exhaust gases directed toward
the front part of the machine and inclined 60° outwards.
This position serves to prevent the exhaust gases from be-
ing directed towards the cab and therefore towards the oper-
ator.
2.8.24 PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN WHEN USING SYNTHETIC BIODE-
GRADABLE OIL TYPE «HEES»
It is not possible to mix the synthetic biodegradable oil type HEES with ordinary hydraulic oils, since when the

temperature increases insoluble compounds are generated, which are deposited on the filters and clog them
(the maximum concentration of ordinary oil must not exceed 1% of the total quantity of oil).
Biodegradable oil can be used only in the hydraulic system; it cannot be used for the engine, the transmissions,

the braking system, etc.
Before introducing synthetic biodegradable oil in the hydraulic system, empty the system completely, discon-
q
necting the cylinders and all the parts that may contain ordinary oil, and replace the drain filter with a new one.
Start the engine and let it idle without using the work equipment, wait until the oil reaches a temperature of at
least 40°C, then start moving the equipment, so that all the parts of the system are filled with oil. Stop the engine
and check the oil level (see "4.8.6.a CHECKING THE HYDRAULIC OIL LEVEL").
