Thermal motor protection
The stator winding can be supplied with the following motor protection to sense (measure)
and monitor the motor temperature:
Standard protection:
Full protection (option):
Universal protection (op-
tion):
Note
If water-cooled synchronous built-in motors are operated for longer than one minute at a
standstill with the static torque, a phase can be thermally loaded disproportionately.
• Reduce the permanent static torque to 20 .
• Protect the winding thermally with a thermistor triplet (PTC) with an external tripping
unit.
NOTICE
Thermal damage to temperature-sensitive parts
Some parts of the electrical motor enclosure can reach temperatures that exceed 100 °C. If
temperature-sensitive parts, e.g. electric cables or electronic components, come into
contact with hot surfaces, these parts could be damaged.
• Ensure that no temperature-sensitive parts are in contact with hot surfaces.
