    4 or Android 4 and above are required for setup on a smartphone or tablet. Open a web browser and if you do not automatically arrive at the “Get Started” screen shown below, enter the URL http://edimax.setup and click “Get Started” to begin the setup process.
  • Page 4 If you cannot access http://edimax.setup, please make sure your computer is set to use a dynamic IP address. This is a simple procedure and step-by-step instructions can be found in the user manual. Select a mode for your BR-6478AC and click “Next” to continue.

    BR-6478AC. To access the browser based configuration interface, enter http://edimax.setup into the URL bar of a web browser on a network device which is connected to the BR-6478AC. If you can not access edimax.setup, connect the BR-6478AC to a computer using an Ethernet cable and try again.

    2. In range extender mode, if my BR-6478AC is set up as a dual-band extender, what happens when I connect a wired Ethernet client? a.
  • Page 8 SSID Enter the SSID (network name) of your existing, hidden network. Device SSID Enter an SSID for the BR-6478AC or leave it blank to use a default which consists of your existing router’s SSID (above) +"_2EX". Encryption Enter the encryption information for your existing, hidden network.

To reset the device back to its factory default settings, press and hold the WPS/Reset button for over 10 seconds, until the power LED begins to flash. Please wait a few minutes for the product to restart. When the device restarts, all settings will be reset.
