2. Remove and replace the old bulb with a new identical
bulb. 
3. Install the socket into the taillight bezel or dashboard
display. 

Headlight Replacement

1. Open the hood. 
2. Remove the forward heat shield (A, Figure 36).

3. Twist the bezel (C) clockwise and pull out the light bulb
socket (B). 
4. Use a rag or gloves to remove and replace the light bulb
with an identical halogen bulb.
Important: DO NOT TOUCH THE BULB WITH YOUR BARE
HANDS. 
5. Install the socket into the bezel. 

Check the Spark Plugs

WARNING
Unintentional sparking can result in fire or electric shock. 
Unintentional start-up can result in entanglement, traumatic
amputation, or laceration. 
 When testing for spark: 
• Use approved spark plug tester. 
• Do not check for spark with spark plug removed. 
NOTICE
Spark plugs have different heat ranges. It is important that
the correct spark plug is used, otherwise, engine damage
can occur. Replace the spark plug with the same type or
equivalent one. 
Clean Spark Plug 
Clean the spark plug with a wire brush and sturdy knife. Do
NOT use abrasives. 
Check Spark Plug Gap 
Use a spark plug feeler gauge (A, Figure 37) to check the
gap between the two electrodes. When the gap is correct, the
gauge will drag slightly as you pull it through the gap. 
To adjust the spark plug gap, use a spark plug gauge and
gently bend the curved electrode. Make sure that you do not
touch the center electrode or the porcelain.

Install Spark Plug 
Tighten the spark plug with your fingers, and then, tighten it
with a wrench as shown in Figure 38. 
• 180 in-lbs (20 Nm), OR 
• 1/2 turn when you install the original spark plug. 1/4 turn
when you install a new spark plug.
