• Adjust the notebook display to a comfortable angle.
DO NOT USE EXCESSIVE FORCE WHEN TAPPING ON THE SCREEN. USE OF EXCESSIVE FORCE COULD
RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE DISPLAY.
• Touch your stylus to various points on the screen to verify that the screen is correctly calibrated.
WHEN INSTRUCTED TO TOUCH THE "LEFT UP", "LEFT CENTER", AND "LEFT DOWN" BUTTONS, USE THE
ZOOM, ECO, AND "A" BUTTONS, RESPECTIVELY, ON THE LEFT OF THE DISPLAY. WHEN INSTRUCTED TO
TOUCH THE "RIGHT UP" AND "RIGHT DOWN" BUTTONS, USE THE UP AND DOWN ARROW BUTTONS
ON THE RIGHT OF THE DISPLAY.
IF YOU INADVERTENTLY TOUCH THE ON-SCREEN KEYBOARD ICON WHILE CALIBRATING, THE KEYBOARD
MAY OPEN UP. IF THAT OCCURS, SIMPLY CLOSE THE KEYBOARD WINDOW AND PROCEED.
8. Access your User's Guide
• To take advantage of all the features of your new Fujitsu notebook,
it is highly recommended that you read your electronic User's Guide.
It contains important detailed information about your new computer.
You can access your User's Guide by selecting its icon from the
screen desktop.
9. restoring Your Pre-installed Software
• There are two discs packed with your system for recovering your pre-installed software. See your User's
Guide for more detailed information on using these discs.
• The Drivers and Applications Restore Disc" (DAR) allows you to re-install drivers and/or applications. To use this
disc, reboot your system, then insert the disc after Windows starts, and follow the on-screen directions.
• The Recovery and Utility Disc allows you to:
- Restore the same OS that was originally installed on the hard drive.
- Delete all hard drive data to prevent it from being reused.
- Create a new D: partition or resize existing partitions on your hard drive. NOTE: Creating or resizing
partitions with this utility will cause all hard drive data to be completely erased.
- Have an IT professional conduct diagnostic tests on system.
To use this disc, follow the instructions in the "Using the Recovery and Utility Disc" booklet that came with the disc.

Common Indicators

Status Display Panel
The Status Indicators represent specific components of your Fujitsu notebook. The LEDs below each
symbol tell you how each of those components are operating.
Battery charge/DC-In Indicator
Orange, solid: AC adapter and battery are
available and system is being charged.
Blue, solid: AC adapter and battery are
available and system is fully charged,
or AC adapter is plugged in but battery
is not installed.
Orange, blinking: AC adapter and battery
are available and waiting to charge
battery (battery is out of thermal range).
Off: AC adapter is not plugged in.
Battery Level Indicator
The Battery Level indicators display
the charge level of the indicated
battery pack, as follows:
Blue, solid: Battery is between
51% and 100% charged.
Orange, solid: Battery is between
13% and 50% charged.
Red, solid: Battery is 12%
or less charged.
Orange, blinking: Blinks during battery
status measurement (Four seconds
after the battery is installed).
Red, blinking: There is a problem with
the battery.
Off: There is no battery installed or the
battery has no charge.
Hard Drive Access Indicator
The Hard Drive Access indicator flickers
blue when your internal hard drive is
being accessed.

If the battery pack is installed while the power is turned
off, the battery level indicator will display the charge
level for fi ve seconds after it blinks orange.
If the AC adapter is not connected or the battery pack
is not fully charged when the computer is switched to
standby mode, the indicator will blink. The LED blinks
at the rate of one second on/six seconds off.
Batteries subjected to shocks, vibration or extreme
temperatures can be permanently damaged.
A shorted battery is damaged and must be replaced.
Power Indicator
The Power indicator glows blue when
your system is turned on.
number Lock Indicator
The NumLk indicator glows blue when
an optional external keypad is set in
numeric keypad mode.
Caps Lock Indicator
The CapsLock indicator
glows blue when your
keyboard is set to type
in all capital letters.
Scroll Lock Indicator
The ScrLk indicator
glows blue when your
scroll lock is active.
Quick tips
It takes approximately 4 hours to
charge a fully discharged single
battery with unit off or in
suspend mode.
optimizing Battery Life
• Set power management setting
to Maximize Battery Life.
• Adjust display brightness levels
to lowest comfortable setting.
• Remove SD Cards and when
not needed.
• Utilize Suspend mode when
not using your notebook.
• Read the Power Management
section in your electronic User's
Guide for additional features.
