- Page 3 INSTALLING THE BATTERIES 1. Grip the lower silver portion with left hand. 2. Grip the upper silver portion with right hand. 3. Gently twist the top portion counterclockwise, so that the black arrow points to the unlocked icon. 4. Gently lift the top portion straight up to expose the battery compartment.

Gently twist glass container counterclockwise until it comes apart from the silver portion. 4. Fill the glass container with your favorite peppercorns or coarse sea salt.
