Browse and select from your digital music collection
directly from your hand-held device or start playback
with BeoSound Essence Remote.*
When connected to a network, BeoSound Essence is
continuously ready to play music. The device from
which you stream music, for example a computer or
a hand-held device, must be connected to the same
network. Bluetooth and line-in does not require a
network to play music on BeoSound Essence.
When BeoSound Essence is set up in a network, you
can use the BeoSetup App to change different settings.
For example, you can change the name of BeoSound
Essence appearing on your device, or change the
maximum speaker volume level. For more information

beosetup.
* BeoSound Essence Remote may have to be purchased

* AirPlay can be used with iPhone, iPad, and iPod

touch with iOS 4.3.3 or later, Mac with OS X Mountain

Daily use

Playback sources
Select a specific music source using BeoMusic App
or select music favourites using BeoSound Essence

Remote.
Pair your BeoSound Essence with up to three remote
controls.
Press the
start playback or unmute. Press again to switch
between available music sources. Press the
to pause or mute. Turn the wheel to adjust volume.
BeoSound Essence will go to standby after approx.
20 minutes of silence.
When you switch on a source, it may take a couple
of seconds before sound is heard in the connected
speakers.
Internet radio
If you have a TuneIn account, you can listen to internet
radio stations from all over the world. Start streaming
from the list of favourite radio stations with BeoSound
Essence Remote or your BeoMusic App. Enter your
BANG & OLUFSEN
button on BeoSound Essence Remote to
credentials in BeoSetup App and use BeoMusic App
to browse and edit in your favourites list.
Music services
Your BeoSound Essence supports Spotify Connect®,
Deezer and QPlay®. Enter your credentials to the
accounts in BeoSetup App and use BeoMusic App to
select the music services and stream music. See the
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section on
www.bang-olufsen.com/faq for more information.
Bluetooth
You can use Bluetooth to stream from any music source
or directly from your hand-held device, Connect your
device to the BeoSound Essence via Bluetooth (see
page 9).

®
Connect BeoSound Essence to your network and
use an AirPlay* 2 app to stream from your hand-held
device or computer to BeoSound Essence. Press
the icon on your device and select 'BeoSound
Essence_xxxxxxxx' in the list. You can also use your
BeoMusic App to stream from digital sources, such as
media servers, to BeoSound Essence.
Google Cast
TM
With Google Cast built into BeoSound Essence, you
can easily cast music to the product, just tap the Cast
button from your favorite mobile music apps to
instantly start playing on the speakers. Then control
