To remove/swap the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM/CD-R/W
drive
Note: You can only remove/swap the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM/CD-R/W
drive when the computer is turned on, and you may need to
enter a correct password before you can remove the CD-ROM/
DVD-ROM/CD-R/W drive. For more information on setting,
disabling and changing the password and swapping bay drives,
see page 25.
Press the release buttons located on both sides of the CD-ROM/DVD-
ROM/CD-R/W drive and pull out the drive.

To take care of your CDs and DVDs:

• Keep your discs in a disk case when not in use to avoid scratches or
other damage. Any kind of dirt or damage can affect the data on
the disc, impair the disc lens reader on the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM/CD-
R/W drive, or stop the computer from successfully reading the disc.
• When handling discs, always hold them by the edges to avoid
smudges or fingerprints.
• When cleaning discs, use a clean, dust-free cloth and wipe in a
straight line from the center to the edge. Do not wipe in a circular
motion.
