Page 5 Graphics Adapter This board is intended for use with the integrated CRT of the NCR PC4i, the NCR PC8 or other compatible CRTs. 1. Review the “Installing Options” chapter of your Owner’s Manual to prepare and perform the installation. 2. Set J 1 open for color CRT, set J 1 closed for monochrome CRT, see Figure 1.

SWITCH SETTINGS Some NCR Personal Computers are equipped with an Asynchronous Communications port and connector on the main processor board. This connector is assigned the COM1 port address and it is not necessary to reset the system configuration switches.

RS 232C ASYNCHRONOUS COMMUNICATIONS ADAPTER KIT If your computer contains two working RS-232C ports, make sure the connectors are identified by a different name (i.e., COM1 and COM2). JUMPER PLACEMENT The adapter board contains two jumper blocks that allow the board to be configured as either COM1 or COM2.

INTERNATIONAL KEYBOARD OPERATION HINTS When using this keyboard, consider the following points: The NUM LOCK and CAPS LOCK keys should both be in the inactive position (LEDs not lit) when loading application programs that do not use keyboard ROM BIOS routines. The five keys, in the form of a cross, that make up the cursor positioning keypad always function as cursor positioning keys regardless of the settings of the NUM LOCK and CAPS LOCK keys.
