7 Engaging and Disengaging the Chain Brake

Mounting the Spiked Bumper

► Take out the screw (4) and remove the chain catcher (3).
► Place the spiked bumper (1) in position.
► Fit the screw (2).
► Place the chain catcher (3) in position.
► Insert and tighten down the screw (4) firmly.
► Tighten down the screw (2) firmly.

Engaging the Chain Brake

The saw is equipped with a chain brake.
The chain brake is activated by the inertia of the front hand
guard if the kickback force is high enough or can be engaged
by the operator.

► Push the hand guard away from the handlebar with your
left hand.
The hand guard engages with an audible click. The chain
brake is engaged.

Disengaging the Chain Brake

► Pull the hand guard back towards the handle with your left
hand.
The hand guard engages with an audible click. The chain
brake is disengaged.
