Changing the Text Input Mode

When you are in a field that allows characters to be
entered, you will notice the text input mode
indicator on the display.
Example: Writing a text message
Create message 21 Aug
Options
To select
Press the right soft key
until
Alphabet mode
displays. See page 47.
Number mode
displays. See page 48.
Symbol mode
the symbol list displays.
See page 48.
T9 mode
displays. See page 49.
Notes:
• You can quickly switch to Symbol mode by pressing
and holding the
key in any mode.
• Additional text input modes may be available,
depending upon your country.

Using Alphabet Mode

Use the 1 to 0 keys to enter your text.
1. Press the keys labelled with the letter you want:
- Once for the first letter
- Twice for the second letter
- And so on
2. Select the other letters in the same way.
Note: The cursor moves to the right when you press a
different key. When entering the same letter
twice or a different letter on the same key, just
wait for a few seconds for the cursor to move to
the right automatically, and then select the next
letter.
Refer to the table below for further details about the
characters available:

Note: The characters available in Alphabet mode may
be different, depending upon your country.
