14.5.1 Remote Management Limitations

Remote management over LAN or WAN will not work when:
1.
A filter in menu 3.1 (LAN) or in menu 11.5 (WAN) is applied to block a Telnet or FTP service.
2.
You have disabled that service in menu 24.11.
3.
The IP address in the Secured Client IP field (menu 24.11) does not match the client IP address. If it does not
match, the ExpWave will disconnect the session immediately.
4.
There is an SMT console session running.
5.
There is already another remote management session of the same type (FTP or Telnet) running. You may only
have one remote management session of the same type running at one time.

These read-only labels denote the kind of server that you may remotely
manage.
Change the service port number for corresponding services in this field.
Select the access interface (if any) by pressing [SPACE BAR], then
[ENTER] to choose from: LAN only, WAN only, ALL or Disable.
The default value for Secured Client IP is 0.0.0.0, which means you
don't care which host is trying to use a service (Telnet or FTP).
If you enter an IP address in this field, the ExpWave will check if the
client IP address matches the value here when a (Telnet or FTP)
session is up. If it does not match, the ExpWave will disconnect the
session immediately.
If the Server Access field is set to Disable, then this field is N/A.
