Equipped with AI Servo AF IV, the EOS-1D X Mark III has
improved flexibility in handling a variety of moving subjects,
and superior prediction of movement for more accurate
focusing. Even with a variety of difficult elements such as
fast movement, sudden changes in speed, and obscuring
of the subject by obstacles, it is able to capture the subject.
Therefore, the standard setting [Case 1] supports a wide
range of movement, making it possible to AF track subjects.
Further improvements to AI Servo AF IV, high-precision
servo AF has been achieved even in scenes where predictive
computations were difficult, such as scenes where heat
haze occurs or when subjects move away from the camera
at high speeds. For this reason, the EOS-1D X Mark III can
handle a wider range of cases with [Case 1] than the EOS-
1D X Mark II. Shooting with [Case 1] is highly recommended
as you will be able to obtain satisfying results, when
shooting a variety of sports and moving subjects.
When more specific settings for individual cases are desired,
please try [Case 2] – [Case 4] to match shooting conditions.
