4-1-2 Selecting Time Data to Be Displayed

You can select any of the following types of time data for display on the
time counter display.
• CTL counter data
• Time codes
• User's bits
For details on the location of the switches used in the following operations, refer
to "4-1-1 Setting Switches" on the previous page.
Press the CTL button on the lower control panel.
The VTR counts the CTL signals recorded on the tape and displays the
tape running time in hours, minutes, seconds and frames.
Resetting the display
Press the RESET button in the time counter display section.
The value is reset to "0:00:00:00". A minus sign appears if the tape is
rewound from that position.
Press the TC button on the lower control panel.
To select the type of time code to be displayed, set the TC selector on the
system set-up panel as follows:
LTC: LTC
AUTO: • VITC if the playback speed is within ±1/2 times normal speed.
• LTC if the playback speed exceeds ±1/2 times normal speed.
VITC: VITC
The VITC or LTC indicator on the upper control panel lights to indicate
the type of time code recorded on the tape.
Press the U-BIT button on the lower control panel.
As when displaying time codes, user's bits contained in either LTC or
VITC time codes are displayed according to the setting of the TC selector
on the system set-up panel.
