The following is a flowchart for failure diagnosis when the audio signal is not output from the AUDIO OUT jack (stereo mini).
No sound (the audio signal is not output
from the AUDIO OUT jack)
Is the cable that connects between the AUDIO
OUT jack and the equipment broken or short-
circuited to ground?
NO
Is the connected equipment terminated with
22 kohms or more?
YES
Is 12-Vdc power input to Pin 14 of IC5308?
Waveform 46

Is an audio waveform output from the audio input
terminal of IC5308 (Pin 1 for INPUT 1, Pin 3 for
INPUT 2, or Pin 5 for video slot input)?

Is an audio waveform output from Pin 15 of
IC5308?

Failure in the audio muting circuit on the MAIN
PWB for the AUDIO OUT connector, or poor
connection of the AUDIO OUT connector.
