Replacing a
Microprocessor
The Microprocessor
(sometimes called a
"processor") inside your
computer performs
instructions and math
calculations. The more
powerful your micro-
processor, the faster certain
program tasks are
performed in multimedia
and communication
programs.
The microprocessor is usually
covered by a heatsink and
connects to an interface on the
System Board.

makes accessing the internal parts easy. This document
describes how to remove and replace the microprocessor
(see Figure 1-1).
