CAUTION:| If you use a 32:1 fuel mix, you
must use Poulan/Weed Eater 32:1 Engine Oil
or engine damage can occur.
a. Pour one-half of the gasoline into an ap
proved, marked container. Do not try to
mix oil and gasoline directly in the fuel
tank.
b. Add entire measure of 2-cycie Engine Oil.
c. Mix.
d. Add remainder of gasoline.
e. Mix thoroughly for one minute.
3. IMPORTANT POINTS TO REMEMBER
a. Use only recommended fuel mixtures.
b. Eliminate all sources of sparks or flame in
the areas where fuel is mixed, poured or
stored. There should be no smoking, open
flames or work that could cause sparks.

c. Mix and store fuel in an approved, marked
container.
d. Mix and pour fuel in a well-ventilated area.
Gasoline vapors are harmful to your health
and are a serious fire hazard.
e. Avoid over filling the fuel tank. Allow 3/4
inch for expansion. Tighten Fuel Cap
securely.
f. Wipe up all fuel spills before starting the
engine.
g. Move at least 10 feet (3 meters) away from
fuel and fueling site before starting the
engine.
PRE-OPERATION CHECKS
Before operating your unit, always:
1. (/'CHECK OVER SAFETY RULES AND PRE
CAUTIONS in this Operator's Manual. Make
certain you completely understand and can
follow each one.
2. /check the unit for loose bolts,
NUTS, OR FITTINGS. Tighten, repair or replace

parts as necessary. Use only genuine WEED
EATER® replacement parts that are identical
to the original parts.
/CHECK THE AIR FILTER. Clean the filter
before operating the unit.
/CHECK THE FUEL TANK. Fill with a clean,
fresh fuel mixture acording to instructions in
fuel mixture section.
C. STARTING INSTRUCTIONS
• Extend a minimum of 2 inches of line from
the cutting head before the engine is started.
This provides the correct load on the engine.

• Place the cutting head on the ground away
from trees, bushes, onlookers, etc. while the
engine is being started.
• Pull the starter rope quickly and sharply us
ing no more than 12-15 inches of rope with
each pull. If you use the full length of starter
rope, you can break it.
• Lift the unit off the ground quickly when the
engine runs.
• Pull the starter rope no more than 10 times to
avoid flooding the engine, if flooding occurs,
push choke knob in fully and pull starter rope
sharply until engine runs.
• Stop the engine by pressing the "OFF" but
ton (Figure 9) or by pulling the choke knob to
full choke position (Figure 6). Moid button
down until engine stops.
