5. Move the defrost drain plug in the bottom of the convertible
compartment to defrost drain 1 as shown.

6. Replace the convertible compartment.
7. Remove the meat pan (see "Refrigerator Features").
8. Place a container on the top shelf directly underneath defrost
drain 2. Water from the melting ice will flow through the
convertible compartment and into the container.
NOTE: Check the container frequently to avoid water
overflow. Have a second pan handy for easier emptying.
9. Place a pan of hot water in the freezer with the door open to
speed melting. Directing air from an electric fan into the
freezer will also help. Do not place the fan or any electrical
device in freezer.
10. Use a plastic scraper to remove frost.
NOTE: Do not use an ice pick, knife, or other sharp-pointed
tool to defrost freezer. Damage can occur.
11. Wipe water from walls with a towel or sponge.
12. Wash the inside walls of the freezer with a solution of mild
detergent in warm water or 2 tbs. (26 mg) baking soda to 1 qt.
(0.95 L) warm water. Do not use abrasive or harsh cleaners.
13. Move the defrost drain plug to defrost drain 2 as shown.
14. Replace the meat pan.
15. Replace all food in the freezer, convertible compartment and
meat pan.
16. Plug in refrigerator or reconnect power.

Change the Light Bulb

NOTE: Not all appliance bulbs will fit your refrigerator. Be sure to
replace the bulb with a 15 watt appliance bulb of the same size,
and shape. Using a bulb over 15 watts may damage the
refrigerator.
1. Unplug refrigerator or disconnect power.
2. Remove the light shield. Press in at the back to release the
shield and pull it the rest of the way out.
3. Replace the light bulb with a 15 watt appliance bulb of the
same size and shape.
4. Replace the light shield.
5. Plug in refrigerator or reconnect power.

Vacation and Moving Care

Vacations
If you choose to leave the refrigerator on while you're away, use
up any perishables and freeze other items.
If you choose to turn the refrigerator off before you leave, follow
these steps.
1. Remove all food from the refrigerator and freezer
compartments.
2. Turn the control to the off position. See the "Using the
Control" and "Defrost and Clean the Freezer" sections.
3. Clean the refrigerator, and dry it well.
4. Tape rubber or wood blocks to the tops of both doors to prop
them open far enough for air to get in. This stops odor and
mold from building up.
Moving
When you are moving your refrigerator to a new home, follow
these steps to prepare it for the move.
1. Remove all food from the refrigerator and freezer
compartments.
2. Turn the control to the off position. See the "Using the
Control" and "Defrost and Clean the Freezer" sections.
3. Unplug the refrigerator.
