General problems with the dishwasher

Problem
The door will not open
when knocked.
The indicator lights and
the display are dark.
The wash cabinet light-
ing does not come on
when the door is
opened.
Detergent residue is left
in the detergent com-
partment at the end of a
programme.
The detergent compart-
ment lid cannot be
closed.
At the end of a pro-
gramme there is a film
of moisture on the in-
side of the door and
possibly on the interior
cabinet walls.
Cause and remedy
The function has been permanently dis-

abled.
 Switch the door opening function on again (see
"Settings" chapter, "Knock2open" section).
If the door still will not open or if there is a power cut,
the door can still be opened manually using the the
door-opening mechanism supplied (see "Before us-
ing for the first time" chapter, "Door-opening mech-
anism" chapter).
The dishwasher has switched off automatically to
save energy.
 Switch the dishwasher back on using the
 sensor control.
The wash cabinet lighting has been switched off per-
manently.
 Switch the lighting back on again (see "Settings"
chapter, "BrilliantLight" section).
Faulty wash cabinet lighting.
 Call Miele Service.
The detergent compartment was still damp when de-
tergent was added.
 Only add the detergent when the detergent com-
partment is dry.
Residual detergent is blocking the catch.
 Remove the residual detergent.
This is part of the normal function of the drying sys-
tem. The moisture will dissipate after a short while.
