W ARN I N G: Before you begin any of t he procedures in t his sect ion, follow t he

Your m onit or provides a self- t est feat ure t hat allows you t o check whet her your m onit or is funct ioning properly. I f your m onit or and com put er are properly connect ed but t he m onit or screen rem ains dark, run t he m onit or self- t est by perform ing t he following st eps:
1 . Turn off bot h your com put er and t he m onit or.
2 . Unplug t he video cable from t he back of t he com put er. To ensure proper Self- Test operat ion, rem ove all Digit al ( whit e connect or) and t he Analog ( blue connect or) cables from t he back of com put er.
3 . Turn on t he m onit or.
The float ing dialog box should appear on- screen ( against a black background) if t he m onit or cannot sense a video signal and is working correct ly. While in self- t est m ode, t he power LED rem ains green. Also, depending upon t he select ed input , one of t he dialogs shown below
will cont inuously scroll t hrough t he screen.
1 . This box also appears during norm al syst em operat ion if t he video cable becom es disconnect ed or dam aged.
2 . Turn off your m onit or and reconnect t he video cable; t hen t urn on bot h your com put er and t he m onit or.
I f your m onit or screen rem ains blank aft er you use t he previous procedure, check your video cont roller and com put er, because your m onit or is funct ioning properly.

N OTE: You can run t he built - in diagnost ics only when t he video cable is unplugged and t he m onit or is in self- t est m ode.
