3.2.2 Installation position for the platen unit

Refer to Section 2.10, Overall Dimensions, in the specification for the installation position for the
platen unit and the printer main unit.
Refer to the figure below for the position of the rotating axis of the platen unit (the same as the
rotating axis of the paper roll upper case.)
* If the platen unit is installed out of the range in the figure below, the platen unit may contact the
printer main unit, or the paper insertion may not be smooth.
Area where the rotating axis of the platen
unit can be set.
3.2.3 Designing the platen cover
The platen cover should be designed so that the hooks located on both of its edges are securely
locked. Specifically, if only the hook on the paten open detector side is locked, correct paper feeding
cannot be performed. It is recommended to follow the instructions shown below.
Design the case so that both hooks are locked correctly even when the edge of the cover is pushed,
by securing the torsional rigidity of the platen cover and the rigidity of the rotation shaft of the platen
unit.
Provide a pushing position on the platen cover as shown in Figure 3.2.4. The platen cover should
have a dent or mark at its center so that operator can find the pushing position easily.
The case should be designed so that the unshut status of the platen is easily found.
