ing or causing vibrations When the unit is
running.

Carrying out installation

1 Unpack the unit carefully.
2 Unfasten or dismantle transport locks.
3 Packing material to be fully removed and
disposed.
4 The unit base frame must be fixed without
stresses to the supporting structure.
5 No forces or vibrations may be transferred
from other plant parts.
6 The flexible connections at intake and/or
discharge should be installed, well aligned
and freely moving.
7 The AVM should be freely moving and
under even load.
8 The impeller should be turning idly and
should not touch the intake cone.
9 The stability against collapse of the unit
should be checked.

The LK Unit should be located on a suit-
able base to provide adequate height
from the ground in order to accommo-
date the drain trap.

Pre start Up Checklist:

Make sure the power supply voltage and fre-
quency are as given in the unit name plate.
- Make sure that unit has been installed in
accordance with the installation instruction
and applicable codes.
- Check all electrical connections in unit con-
trol panel, tighten them as required.
- Check the power supply phase sequence for
proper direction of rotation of motors.
- Make sure all system hand valves are in fully
open position and system contains an oper-
ating charge of refrigerant.

Pre start Up Procedure:

After the installation has been completed, the
following points should be covered before the
system is placed in operation.
a. Check electrical connections. Be sure they
are all tight.
b. Remove or loosen shipping retainers under
motor- compressors.
c. Check high and low pressure controls, pres-
sure regulating valves and all other safety
controls, and adjust if necessary.
d. Check refrigerant used in the system.
e. Wiring diagrams, instruction etc. attached
to LK units should be read and filed for
future reference.
f. Observe system pressures during initial
operation. Do not add oil while the system
is short of refrigerant, unless oil level is dan-
gerously low.
g. Do not leave unit unattended until the sys-
tem has reached normal operating condi-
tions and the oil charge has been properly
adjusted to maintain the oil level at the cen-
ter of the sight glass.
