Connect the appropriate end of the power cable to the power
receptacle on the BayStack 281xx switch, as shown in

Connect the other end of the power cable to a wall receptacle.
CAUTION: When installing a BayStack 281xx switch, do not turn on the
power to the switch until the switch is connected to the Model RPSU
Redundant Power Supply. For more information about connecting the switch
to the RPSU, see

10. Turn on the power button on the back panel of the BayStack 281xx
switch.
When the BayStack 281xx switch is correctly installed and the power is
turned on, the LEDs, with the exception of the collision LEDs, illuminate
briefly and the front panel display shows a series of self-test messages.
After the self-test messages, the front panel briefly shows Initializing and
then Configuring. At this point, the port link status LEDs turn off and do
not light again until the port is connected to an active device. When the
BayStack 281xx switch configuration sequence is complete, the front
panel display shows Operational: RUN.
