Prerequisites for Configuring the 3G HWIC

The following are prerequisites to configuring the 3G HWICs:
•
Configuring the 3G Wireless High-Speed WAN Interface Card for Cisco 1841, 1861, and 2800 and 3800 Series Routers (HWIC-3G-GSM and
Bands Selection based on different geographical regions.
Firmware upgrade-You can upgrade the firmware on the modem by using Cisco IOS commands.
3G HWIC support on Cisco Integrated Services Router (ISR) platforms, namely Cisco 1841,
Cisco 1861, Cisco 2801, Cisco 2811, Cisco 2821, Cisco 2851, Cisco 3825, and Cisco 3845.
Comprehensive Cisco IOS MIB support including Interface (IF) MIBs and Entity MIBs.
3G cellular MIB support.
Modification
This feature was introduced for HWIC-3G-GSM. (This image is not
supported any longer.)
This feature was integrated into Cisco IOS Release 12.4(15)T.
This feature was updated.
The HSPA feature was introduced.
