Hood

To open:
Pull lever (1) under the LH side of
the instrum ent panel to unlock the
hood. The hood opens to the safety
catch stop. At the same time grip (2)
w ill pop out of the radiator grille.
Pull grip (2) out of the radiator
grille as far as the stop and lift up
hood (windshield w iper arms must
not be folded out).

To obtain easier access to the
engine compartment, the hood can
be opened even further. For this
purpose, disengage the lock of the
left hood strut from recess (3) and
slightly lift up hood to prevent the
lock from reengaging. Then disen­
gage the lock of the right hood strut
from recess (3) and continue lifting
the hood. When the hood is com ­
pletely open, the lock of the left
hood strut engages recess (4).
Closing:
If the hood was opened beyond the
normal position, first disengage the
lock of the left hood strut from
recess (4). Then lower hood until
the locks of left and right hood
struts engage recess (3).
The tension springs must not
disengage from their guides.
Close hood by depressing it firmly.
