RIDING TIPS
STARTING THE ENGINE
Sit on the motorcycle and retract the side
stand, or place the motorcycle on the center
stand. Insert the ignition key into the ignition
switch and turn it to the "ON" position.
WARNING
Starting the engine improperly can be
hazardous. Starting the engine with the
center stand released can move motor-
cycle forward as soon as engine starts.
Place the motorcycle on the center stand
before starting the engine and do not
release the center stand until engine
revs at idling speed.
NOTICE
Racing causes ill effect to the engine
such as wasting fuel, engine trouble or
breakage.
Avoid unnecessary racing.
NOTE:
This motorcycle is equipped with inter-
lock system for the ignition circuit and
the starter circuit. The engine can only
be started if the side stand is fully up.
If the electric starter button or kick lever
is operated with the throttle grip turned
about 2/3 or more, the fuel injection and
ignition systems are disabled to prevent
starting.
