Sunrise Medical Quickie Xtender Installation Instructions

Please read these instructions carefully before beginning the installation. Failure to understand and
follow installation instructions may result in injury to installer and/or end user and may void the warranty.

Xtender Mounting parts:
1. 4 ea Large black hex nut
2. 2 ea Index axle washer
3. 2 ea Clamp bracket
4. 2 ea Large washer
5. 8 ea 2" Hex bolt
6. 4 ea 1-3/8" Hex Bolt

A. PRE-INSTALLATION
1. Prep the chair:
a. Remove the wheels.
b. Place the chair on a flat work surface or workbench for best
installation results.
c. Make a mark on both sides of the frame where the center of the
Camber tube lines up with the frame.
d. Using a 10mm wrench and 4mm hex key remove the seat sling
and seat rail (Fig 1). Set the harware and parts aside for re-assembly.
2. Remove the Backrest assembly:
a. Using a 10mm wrench and 5mm hex key, remove the backrest
bracket to frame hardware (A) from both sides of the chair. Set the
hardware aside for re-assembly of the backrest later.
b. Pull on the backrest release strap (B) to release the locking pins (C)
from the backrest bracket.
c. Remove the Backrest assembly (D).
d. Using a pair of needle-nose pliers, remove C-clip (E) from the release
strap assembly. Remove the assembly and hardware, and set it aside
for re-assembly.
e. Remove the tube end-cap (F), or Swing away armrest receiver.
3. Remove the Axle Plate/Camber tube assembly:
a. Using a 4mm hex key, loosen the two socket head screws (G) on both
sides of the chair, so that you can move the whole assembly.
b. Slide the assembly carefully and evenly off of the rear chair frame.
c. The chair is ready for installaion of the Xtender unit.
