Installing/removing a hard disk drive module
The hard disk drives which can be ordered for the server are supplied already
mounted in the hard disk drive modules.

Only a service technician may remove a hard disk drive from the carrier.
If a hard disk drive module is to be installed in a free bay, then the dummy
module must be removed from this bay beforehand.

Ê Press the two tabs at both sides on the dummy module together until the
locking mechanism disengages (1), and remove the dummy module from
the bay (2).

CAUTION!
Keep the dummy module for future use. If the hard disk drive module is
removed again and not replaced with a new module, then the dummy
module must be reinstalled due to cooling, the applicable EMC regula-
tions (regulations on electromagnetic compatibility) and fire protection.
Mounting is performed in the reverse order.
