Notes on the CE Symbol
The following applies to the SIMATIC product described in this manual:
EMC Directive
In accordance with the EU Directive 89/336/EEC "Electromagnetic
Compatibility." In accordance with the CE label for this product, the
following areas of application are relevant:

This product complies with the reqirements of the EU Directive 73/23/EEC

"Low-Voltage Directive." Conformance with this standard has been verified
according to EN 60950.

Products not bearing the CE label fulfill the requirements and standards as

communications provision 1046/84 and 243/91 or European Economic Com-
munity Directive 89/336/EEC. Products which fulfil these specifications
carry a manufacturer's certificate, the corresponding BZT (German govern-
ment body for telecommunications approvals) approval or the CE symbol.
Products which do not fulfil these requirements may only be employed with
special permission from the BZT.
