It is comparable to a digital communicator, but instead of transmitting signals over the telephone lines, it transmits radio signals to the central monitoring station using the control channel of the AMPS cellular phone network.

NOTE: When a good test message is sent from the 7845CZ, it can be assumed with a high degree of certainty that it reached AlarmNet without waiting for validation. Numerous transmission failures (indicated by the red LED blinking rapidly) indicate that the location chosen might be preventing the 7845CZ from transmitting well;...

PC board. The knockouts are located on either side of the back cover. To trip Zone 1, 2 or 3 on the 7845CZ in V+ trigger mode, the positive triggering voltage from the control panel must be within 4.5V-14.2V. Trigger levels above this range may cause permanent damage to the unit.
  • Page 22 GND must be connected to the control panel’s electrical ground as shown in Figures 5 through 9, and not to earth ground. • For UL zone operation, the 7845CZ must be used with control panels that are UL Listed. • Bell outputs cannot be used as a zone trigger for UL installations.

  • Page 25 The disadvantage to this selection is that the radio will not transmit when the battery fails. If it is possible to budget 400mA to the 7845CZ or if drawing that amount of current for 3 seconds is not a problem, then the response to the current limit question should be NO.
  • Page 26 The 7845CZ performs a battery test under load on a periodic basis. During this test, if the battery drops below 5.7V, a low-battery message is generated to indicate that the battery should be replaced.

    • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Introduction There are seven possible input zones available on the 7845CZ. Zones 1 and 2 are located on TB1-3 and are selectable for +V, -V, or EOLR modes, which can detect both pulsed and steady signals.

The 7845CZ powers the 7720P Programming Tool via the programming jack. NOTE: Some 7720Ps will not function when powered from the 6-volt battery in the 7845CZ. In this case, the 7845CZ needs to be connected to a 12VDC source on TB1 in the control panel.

(Auto) The radio tests for up to three carriers on a given side and chooses the best one for that side based on MicroBurst availability and signal strength.
  • Page 31 A Only: This mode is used in fixed installations where the 7845CZ tests only the A side and chooses the best if more than one carrier was found. If the radio loses coverage, it cycles through the list of carriers stored in EEPROM.
