SLR 25/50 Gbyte Mounting the drive The drive requires a 5 ¼ inch "half-height" slot. It can be installed horizontally or vertically. When mounting the drive, ensure that the ventilation slits on the drive are kept free. Ê Install the drive as described in "Installing a disk drive" in the Technical Manual or in the Operating Manual of the system unit. -

SLR 25/50 Gbyte Meaning of the indicators When the system unit is switched on, the drive carries out a self-test. The indicators are illuminated or flash during this test. During operation, the indicators have the following meaning: Drive state Ready Activity Fault (amber) (green) -

SLR 25/50 Gbyte Handling magnetic tape cartridges The maximum capacity of 50/100 Gbyte is reached, for example, when a cartridge of the type "SLR100" is used. The following table shows the possible uses of other cartridge types in various drives (w = write, r = read.) When the tape cartridge is write-protected, the system can read data, but can neither overwrite nor delete data. The write protection facility consists of a screw with an arrow. -
