    Signature and Standard Editions This manual covers both the Signature Edition and the Standard Edition of the Cinema Grand Architect’s Choice Series II. The Architect’s Choice line of amplifiers and preamplifiers are designed with a 17” wide chassis. This makes them an ideal choice for fitting into Home Theater entertain- ment centers and for specifying in custom installations.

    Whichever way you decide to hook up the Sunfire Cinema Grand , it will create a multilayered soundstage that is deep, wide, three-dimensional, and utterly believable. The optional current- source output can coax forth a sensuous, delicately detailed musical voice long associated with low-powered classic tube amplifiers.

    Your Cinema Grand Amplifier should reach you in perfect condition. If you do notice any shipping damage, please contact your Sunfire Dealer immediately. Gently lift out the unit and remove all the packing material and accessories. It is important to save all the packing materials and the box in case your amplifier ever needs to be moved or shipped for repair.

    User's Manual Signature Edition Specifications Power output 425 watts continuous, per channel, all channels driven into eight ohms, from 20 Hz to 20 kHz with no more than 0.5% T.H.D. Power at clipping, minimum: 850 watts per channel into four ohms. 1700 watts per channel into two ohms (time limited basis).

    12VDC trigger inputs are offered as an optional way to turn on the amplifier. The Sunfire Theater Grand preamplifer has a compatible 12VDC trigger output. When the Theater Grand is turned on, the Cinema Grand Amplifier will also turn on, even when the volume is turned down.
  • Page 13 4. XLR Inputs If your preamplifier has XLR outputs, connect them to the XLR inputs. Use them instead of the RCA inputs because balanced connections offer superior noise rejection. They show how the inputs and outputs of the Cinema Grand Amplifier are connected to your preamplifier and speakers. If your preamplifier has RCA outputs, it can be connected to the amplifier inputs as shown.

    User's Manual Biamping If your speakers can be biamped, the Cinema Grand Amplifier can be configured to provide a very powerful stereo system. Inputs A speaker which can be biamped or biwired will have two sets of binding posts. Sometimes these posts are joined with shorting links for normal operation.

    User's Manual Speaker connections If your speakers cannot be biwired, the normal configuration is to have one speaker connected per channel. The connection of more than one per channel will tend to degrade the speaker’s frequency response. For the best results use one speaker per channel.
