  • Page 2 Connecting the Compact USB 2.0 10/100 Network Adapter to Your PC With your PC turned off, insert the Adapter’s USB end (or the end of the USB extension cable connected to the Adapter) into your PC’s USB port or USB NOTE: For maximum speed, hub.
  • Page 3 Installing the Driver for the Compact USB 2.0 10/100 Network Adapter After connecting the Adapter to your computer’s USB port or hub, follow these instructions to install the hardware device driver. The installation procedures for the device driver vary depending on your PC’s oper- ating system, so make sure to follow the instructions for your operating system.
  • Page 4 The Completing the Found New Hardware Wizard screen will appear. Click Finish. Remove the Driver CD from the drive. Congratulations! The installation of the Compact USB 2.0 10/100 Network Adapter is complete. Windows 2000 If you haven’t already, start your computer. Windows 2000 will automati- cally detect the Adapter con- nected to your computer.
  • Page 5 The Driver Files Search Results screen will appear. Click Next. For Windows 2000, you may be informed that a digital signa- ture has not been found. Click Yes. The Completing the Found New Hardware Wizard screen will appear. Click Finish, and remove the Driver CD from the CD-ROM drive.
  • Page 6 Select Search for the best driver for your device (Rec- ommended). You MUST remove the checkmark from the box next to Removable Media. Select Specify a loca- tion:, and enter D:\winME in the field provided. Then click Next. When Windows notifies you that it is ready to install the driver files, click Next.
  • Page 7 Windows 98 If you haven’t already, start your computer. Windows 98 will automatically detect the Adapter con- nected to your PC. When the first Add New Hardware Wizard screen appears, insert the Driver CD into your CD-ROM drive, and Click Next. Select Search for the best driver for your device (Recom- mended), and click Next.
