A local mesh typically uses radios only. One will select an Ethernet port only when some nodes in
the network are wired together and the topology can not be predicted at deployment time. For
instance if there is a pair of nodes wired together and either node might be able to provide the best
connection to the local mesh, then both of them can be configured as alt-masters using both radio1
and Port 1. When the first node connects to the local mesh, it will provide a pseudo-link to the other
node which will then be able to provide downstream links to other nodes.
