OPERATION
CHECKING AND ADJUSTING THE CHAIN TENSION
WARNING: Make sure battery is removed from chainsaw and
tool is cold before performing chain tensioning. Make sure to place
chainsaw on stable, level surface.
To check the saw chain tension pull the saw chain away from the
guide bar approximately 3mm. If the chain snaps back into place
then the tension is correct. There should be no sag between the
guide bar and the saw chain on the underside.
To increase tension:
1.
Un-tighten the sprocket cover tighten knob slightly by turning it counterclockwise.
2.
To increase the chain tension, turn the chain tensioner adjustment knob (13) clockwise
and check the chain tension frequently.
3.
The chain tension is correct when the gap between the cutter in the chain and the
bar is between 3mm-4mm. Pull the chain in the middle of the lower side of the bar
downwards (away from the bar) and measure the distance between the bar and the
chain cutters.
4.
Tighten the sprocket cover tighten knob (15) by turning it clockwise.
To reduce tension:
1.
Turn the chain tensioner adjustment knob (13) counterclockwise and check the chain
tension frequently.
2.
Tighten the sprocket cover tighten knob (15) by turning it clockwise.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Use only mild soap and damp cloth to clean the tool. Do not use solvents to clean the plastic housing
of the saw. Never let any liquid get inside the tool; never immerse any part of the tool into a liquid. IM-
PORTANT: To assure product SAFETY and RELIABILITY, repairs, maintenance and adjustment should
be performed by authorized service centers or other qualified service organizations, always using
identical replacement parts. Regular maintenance ensures a long effective life for your chain saw.
CHAIN AND BAR
After every few hours of use, remove the guide bar and chain and clean thoroughly using a soft bris-
tle brush. Ensure oiling hole on bar is clear of debris.
SAW CHAIN SHARPENING
CAUTION: Sharp chain. Always wear protective gloves when handling the chain. The chain is
sharp and can cut you when it is not running.
WARNING: Sharp moving chain. To prevent accidental operation, ensure that battery is removed
from the tool before performing the following operations. Failure to do this could result in serious per-
sonal injury. NOTE: The cutters will dull immediately if they touch the ground or a nail while cutting.
