Introduction What You Can Do with the Reader First, read the Quick Start Guide to prepare the Reader for use. Initially after purchase, you need to charge the Reader battery, and install the dedicated software “Reader Library” on your computer. Once initial preparation is complete, you can transfer content from your computer to the Reader to take anywhere you wish. -

Getting Started Parts and Controls Touch screen The touch screen gives you simple access to the various functions on the Reader ( < > (Page Turn) buttons Turns the page. You can turn multiple pages by pressing and holding the buttons. You can also turn the page using the touch screen ( ... - Page 7 Getting Started (Size) button Displays the Size menu ( You can adjust the text size and zoom in/out a page or picture from the Size menu. Getting Started Charging the Reader About charging You need to charge the Reader when using it for the first time, or when the remaining battery power is low. Charge in one of the following ways. Connect to a computer via USB. Connect to an AC outlet using the AC Adapter for Reader (AC- S5220E) (optional). - Page 14 Getting Started Connect the Reader to your computer using the supplied USB cable. appears on the Reader and charging starts. Getting Started How to Use the Touch Screen Using the touch screen, you can perform various operations with a finger or with the supplied stylus. You can transfer the following content files. Deactivate the “Device Lock” setting before USB connection ( If the Reader has not been authorized, Reader Library will not transfer the DRM-protected files to the Reader.

Reading Books Using the Useful Features You can use the various features to enhance readability. Embedded dictionaries You can look up words using the English dictionaries incorporated in the Reader. Reading Books Note When using the embedded dictionary, you cannot input alphabet with umlaut or accent. The tap and hold operation on the on-screen keyboard is not available. Adjusting the text size You can adjust the text size using the size menu. Select from 5 different text sizes (S, M, L, XL or XXL). - Page 80 Reading Books Tap “M,” “L,” “XL” or “XXL.” The text size is changed, and the text and layout of the book page are adjusted automatically to fit the screen size.
