■ The standby mode

The start screen is home base and indicates that your phone is in the standby mode.
Signal strength (1) — the strength of the
signal received by the phone is indicated
by the number of bars displayed.
Message
(2) — press the left soft key to
select this option.
Menu
(3) — press the middle selection key
to select this option.
Contacts
(4) — press the right soft key to
select this option.
Battery strength (5) — four bars indicate a
fully charged battery.
Location (6) — location information sharing mode.

Depending on your phone settings and modes, some or all of the following
indicators and icons may appear in the standby mode. See "Phone info", p. 80, for
