Passenger Compartment Air Filter

If your vehicle has this feature, the passenger
compartment air, both outside air and recirculated air, is
routed through a passenger compartment filter. The
filter removes certain particles from the air, including
pollen and dust particles. Reductions in airflow,
which may occur more quickly in dusty areas, indicate
that the filter needs to be replaced early.
The filter should be replaced as part of routine
scheduled maintenance. See Scheduled Maintenance
on page 6-4 for replacement intervals. To find out
what type of filter to use, see Normal Maintenance
Replacement Parts on page 6-16.
The passenger compartment air filter can be accessed
from under the hood.
