Changing the Bluetooth passkey
In the "Settings" menu:
1.
"Bluetooth"
2.
"Ok"
3.
"Change Passkey"
4.
"Ok"
5.
Enter the new passkey.
6.
"Ok"
Resetting Bluetooth passkey
Press the button on the snap-in
adapter for approx. 23 seconds. The
LED above the button lights up red. All Blue‐
tooth links are deleted.
WLAN
The concept
A WLAN-capable device such as a laptop can
be connected to the snap-in adapter wirelessly
via a WLAN connection.
Functional requirement
The SIM card has been inserted into the
snap-in adapter and the snap-in adapter is
ready for operation.
The device is switched on and ready for
operation.
The WLAN connection on the device is
switched on.
Access data of the network service pro‐
vider are known: APN, user name, pass‐
word.
The APN, i.e., the access point of the net‐
work service provider, is different when
changing to another mobile phone net‐
work, e.g., when traveling abroad. Ask the
service provider which APN is used in an‐
other mobile phone network.

The WPA2 code and the name of the snap-
in adapter, SSID, are available. These data
can be found at the bottom of the snap-in
adapter.
Connecting the device with the snap-
in adapter
1.
Check whether the lower LED
above the WLAN button is flashing green.
If it is not flashing green:
Press the button on the snap-in adapter for
approx. 5 seconds until the lower LED
above the WLAN button flashes green.
2.
On the device, start the program for setting
up wireless networks; refer to the operat‐
ing manual of the device.
3.
From the list of available wireless networks
within range of the snap-in adapter, select
"BMW Wireless" and connect.
4.
Enter the WPA2 code.
The lower LED above the WLAN button on
the snap-in adapter lights up green when a
connection has been established.
Configuring the Internet connection
To establish a connection to the Internet, the
snap-in adapter must be configured.
1.
Start the Internet browser on the device.
2.
In the address line of the Internet browser,
enter the following address: http://
192.168.1.1
The "Connectivity SIA" page is displayed.
3.
Select "WAN".
4.
Create the entries. The data are made
available by the service provider.
"APN": access point of the network service
provider.
"Username": user name.
"Password": password.
5.
Confirm the entries with "Submit".
