3.11 FROST PROTECTION MODE
1. The frost protection feature will operate when the selector switch is in
the central heating and domestic hot water mode.
The gas and electrical supplies to the boiler must be on and then system
pressure be within the range described in Section 3.9.
2. If the system temperature falls below 5°C, then the boiler will fire until
the water temperature has been raised.
3. Further frost protection can be incorporated by using a frost thermostat
to protect the whole system.

4 Check List

1. If a fault develops, or is suspected, call your Service Engineer as soon
as possible.
2. Go through the following check list before you make contact.
a) Is the electricity supply on ?
b) Is the selector switch on (giving a green "Power ON" neon) and set
for both Central Heating and Domestic Hot Water ?
c) Is the red "Flame Failure" neon lit ?
Turn the On/Off/Reset selector fully anti-clockwise.
d) Is the gas supply on ?
e) Is the mains water supply turned on ?
f) Is the system pressure correct ?
g) Are the boiler temperature controls set high enough ?
h) Is the time clock (if fitted) calling for central
heating ?
i) Is the room thermostat (if fitted) set high enough ?
j) Are the radiator valves open ?

5 Important notes

5.1. BOILER LOCATION
Always ensure the following clearances are available for servicing around
the boiler:
Top: 220 mm, Bottom: 250 mm, each side: 45 mm, Front: 450 mm
If the boiler is installed in a cupboard or compartment, ensure that all ven-
tilation openings are clear. Do not store any other articles in the cupboard
containing the boiler and never place any clothing or combustible material
on or near the boiler or flue pipe.
5.2. FLUE TERMINAL
The terminal on the outside wall must not be allowed to be obstructed.
If it is damaged, in any way, turn the boiler off and contact your Service
Engineer.
In cold weather, steam may be emitted from the terminal. This is quite
normal.
5.3. MAINS FAILURE
In the event of an electrical supply failure the boiler will not operate.
When the supply is restored, the boiler will return to normal operation.
Remember to reset the clock when the supply is restored.
3.11 PROTECTION CONTRE LE GEL
1.La protection contre le gel fonctionne lorsque le sélecteur est sur mode
chauffage central et production d'eau chaude.
Le gaz doit être ouvert, la chaudière sous tension et la pression du circuit
comprise entre les valeurs indiquées au point 3.9.
2.Si la température du circuit descend au-dessous de 5 °C, la chaudière
se met en marche pour augmenter la température de l'eau.
3.Il est possible d'incorporer un thermostat pour assurer une protection
supplémentaire de votre installation de chauffage centrale en cas de gel
4 Liste de contrôle
1. En cas d'anomalie, avérée ou suspectée, contactez votre chauffagiste
au plus tôt.
2. Avant de faire appel à votre chauffagiste, effectuez les contrôles sui-
vants :
a) Le courant arrive-t-il à la chaudière ?
b) Le sélecteur est-il sur Marche (voyant vert "TENSION" allumé) et
sur le fonctionnement du chauffage central avec production d'eau
chaude ?
c) Le voyant rouge "Mauvais fonctionnement du brûleur" est-il
allumé ?
Tournez à fond le sélecteur Marche/Arrêt/Réinitialisation vers la
gauche.
d) L'arrivée du gaz est-elle ouverte ?
e) L'arrivée d'eau est-elle ouverte ?
f) La pression dans le circuit est-elle normale ?
g) Les régulateurs de température de la chauidières sont-ils sur une
valeur suffisamment élevée ?
h) L'horloge (si elle est montée) est-elle sur chauffage central ?
i) Le thermostat de température ambiante (s'il est monté) est-il réglé
sur une valeur suffisamment élevée ?
j) Les radiateurs sont-ils ouverts ?

5 Remarques importantes

5.1. DEPLACEMENT DE LA CHAUDIERE
Assurez-vous que les espaces qui suivent sont toujours respectés autour
de la chaudière pour l'entretien:
en haut: 220 mm, en bas: 250 mm, chaque côté: 45 mm, devant: 450 mm
Si la chaudière est installée dans un débarras ou dans une niche, assurez-
vous que les orifices d'aération sont bien libres. N'utilisez pas le même
débarras où se trouve la chaudière pour remettre d'autres articles; ne
placez jamais aucun vêtement ni matériaux combustibles sur la chaudière
ou près de la chaudière ou de la conduite.
5.2. BOITE TERMINALE DE LA CONDUITE
La boîte terminale de la conduite placée sur le mur à l'extérieur ne doit
jamais être obstruée. Au cas où la boîte serait endommagée, arrêter la
chaudière et contactez votre prestataire de services.
Par temps froid du vapeur peut se dégager de la boîte terminale de la
conduite. Cela est normal.
5.3. MANQUE D'ELECTRICITE OU D'EAU
Dans le cas d'un manque d'électricité, la chaudière ne fonctionnera pas.
Quand l'arrivée de l'électricité est rétablie la chaudière redémarrera
normalement. N'oubliez pas de programmer à nouveau l'horloge après
