Entering Characters Using T9 Text Input

T9 Text Input lets you enter text in your PCS Phone by pressing keys just
once per letter. (To select the T9 Word mode when entering text, see
"Selecting a Character Input Mode" on page 61.)
T9 Text Input analyzes the letters you enter using an intuitive word
database and creates a suitable word. (The word may change as you
type.) If the word you want does not display after you have entered all the
letters, press to scroll through additional word selections. To accept
a word and insert a space, press

hold to delete an entire entry.

Entering Characters by Tapping the Keypad

To enter characters by tapping the keypad, select the Alpha mode (see
"Selecting a Character Input Mode" on page 61). Press the
corresponding key until the desired character appears. By default, the
first letter of a word is capitalized and following letters are lowercase.
Characters scroll in the following order:

After a character is entered, the cursor automatically advances to the next
space after two seconds or when you enter a character not on the same
key.
Note:
If you press and hold a numeric key for a few seconds, it will
automatically display the number.

To enter numbers, select the Number mode and press the
appropriate key. (See "Selecting a Character Input Mode" on page
61.)
To enter symbols, select the Symbol mode. (See "Selecting a
Character Input Mode" on page 61.) To enter a symbol, press the
appropriate key indicated on the display.
Adding a New Internal Phone Book
Entry
Your PCS Phone can store up to 300 Internal Phone Book entries. Phone
book entries can store up to a total of six phone numbers and the entry's
name can contain 20 characters.
To add a new entry from Standby mode, see page 23.
To add a new entry using the Phone Book menu:
Press for Main Menu.

Enter the number you want to store and press
