CRANKCASE

Like the YZF-R1, the cylinder block and upper crankcase are cast in one piece.
Integral casting reinforces the crankcase and makes it compact and lightweight.
The crankcase body is aluminum, however, the cylinder sleeves are cast with cast iron.
