    Formatting Disks Before any floppy disk (new or used) can be used with the AT-20S, it must first be for- matted (prepared). Floppy disks must first be “formatted” (initialized) before they can be used by the AT- 20S to store data. “Formatting” is the process of erasing any data which may have been on the disk and making the format of the floppy disk match the format of the device.
