Get to know the Samsung Messager
USE THE BUILT-IN QWERTY KEYBOARD TO SEND
A TEXT MESSAGE
1. To access the QWERTY keyboard, from the Standby mode,
slide it open from beneath the top left section of the phone.
2. The keyboard will slide out from the left side of the phone and
display will automatically rotate to a wider, landscape format.
To access qwerty keyboard, rotate the phone 90 degrees to
view landscape display.
3. To access the Main Menu using the QWERTY keyboard,
press the Enter key (located on the right hand. To send a
message, use the Up Arrow keys to highlight Messages
and press OK key.
4. Press 1 (on either the Qwerty keyboard or phone keypad)
for Send Message, then press 1 for Text Message.
5. In the Create Text Msg menu, enter the recipient's number
and press the OK key.
6. Enter the body of the text message using the QWERTY
keyboard and press the OK key for Send.
NOTE:
• The (Fn) key (located at the bottom of the keyboard ) allows you to toggles
between the Abc (alphabetic) and 123 (numeric) text modes.
• The shift key (located left of the (Fn) key) allows you to toggles the
capitalization between the alphabetic modes: ABC, Abc, and abc. You must
press and hold the shift key for several seconds to toggle between modes.

1. In Standby mode, press the OK key to access the
Main Menu.
2. Use the Navigation keys to highlight Tools and press the OK
key. Press 1 for Bluetooth
.
®
3. Press 1 for Add New Device. The Add New Device menu
will display, "Place device you are connecting to in
discoverable mode." Press the OK key. Phone will display
"Searching."
4. In the Add New Device screen, you will see a list of
compatible devices. Use the Navigation keys to scroll to and
highlight the device you wish to communicate with and
press the OK key for Pair.
5. Enter the Passkey for the new device and press the OK key.
These two devices will then be paired and able to connect.
TAKE A PICTURE WITH THE 1.3 MP INTEGRATED CAMERA
Pictures can be taken with either the slide open or closed.
1. In Standby mode, press the camera icon key on the lower
right side of the phone.
2. The message "Loading," followed by a camera viewfinder
screen, appears in the display.
3. Press Options soft key. Use the Navigation keys to scroll left
to right to access the following options: Self Timer, Multi
Shot, Quality, Resolution, White Balance, Color Effects, and
Settings. Highlight the desired option, use the up and down
navigation keys to select settings for each option, and press
the OK key.
4. Once you have your desired picture in the viewfinder press
the OK key for Take; then you will have the options to Save,
Send, or Erase the picture.
ACCESS QUICK SEARCH
This feature allows searching of Contacts and Menus quickly
by entering the numbers that correspond to the letters for
either the name of the Contact or the name of the Menu.
1. In Standby mode, press the OK key to access the
Main Menu. Use the up and down navigation keys to
highlight Settings and press the OK key.
2. Press 5 for Phone Settings, and 7 for Quick Search.
3. In the Quick Search menu highlight On, and press
the OK key.
4. Press the End key to return to Standby mode.
5. From the Standby mode, for example, you can search
menus related to messaging. Enter 6 (for M), 3 (for E), and 7
(for S). Press the down Navigation key for Menu and a list of
matches will be displayed on the Menu List screen that start
with the letters M-E-S. To access a specific menu, use the
Navigation keys to highlight the desired option, and press
the OK key.
6. To search contacts, for example, from the Standby mode,
enter the first few numbers that correspond to the letters
in the contact's name. Press the UP Navigation key for
Contacts, and a list of matches will be displayed on the
Find screen. To select a specific contact, use the Navigation
keys to highlight the desired contact, and press the OK key
for View.
7. Press the Options soft key to Send Text Msg, Send Pic
Msg, or Call this contact, and press the OK key.
TIPS & TRICKS
Tip: microSD™ Memory Card Although the microSD™
memory card is sold separately, the Messager™'s MP3 player
will not work without it. If your customers try to use the MP3
player without the memory card, they will receive a prompt to
insert the card.
Tip: mail@metro Access The phone must be in the open
position (QWERTY keyboard exposed) in order for your
customers to access the mail@metro service or the Internet.
Tip: Quick Search When activated, the Quick Search feature
enables your customers to type in the first few letters of a
Contact name or Menu item to see a list of available names
or items that match those first letters. They can select what
they want from the list to save keystrokes.
Tip: MP3 Library The Library menu on the MP3 player enables
your customers to view all the songs available, in a variety of
categories – just like they could on a separate MP3 device.
